About

Hi, I'm Jarrod Huntley

I started First Coast Bookkeeping to give Jacksonville small-business owners something they rarely get: bookkeeping that's accurate, on time, and easy to understand, backed by a real person who picks up the phone.

As a CPA and QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I handle your day-to-day bookkeeping so you don't have to. Clean, reliable books cost less than one bad decision made on bad numbers. My job is to make sure your numbers are always accurate, organized, and on time.

No contracts, no jargon, no surprises. Just clean books, clear reports, and more time to grow your business.

When I'm not working, you'll find me working out, cheering on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Fire the Cannons!), and attending church with my wife, Katie, and our children.

I believe that professional excellence is rooted in personal character. As I often say, integrity is not something you can choose on a whim; it must be practiced daily over a lifetime.

FAQ

Questions owners actually ask

The things people want to know before they call. Straight answers, no sales pitch.

How much does bookkeeping cost?

Most small businesses land between $300 and $1,000 a month, depending on how many transactions and accounts you have and how complex things are. You'll get an exact flat number after I look at three months of statements, never an hourly meter. Here's the full breakdown of what drives the price.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. Everything is month-to-month and you can cancel anytime. There's also a first-month satisfaction guarantee: if it's not what you hoped for, you don't pay for that month. I'd rather earn the next month than trap you into it.

My books are months (or years) behind. Can you still help?

Yes, and this is more common than you think. Catch-up work is quoted as its own fixed-price project, separate from monthly bookkeeping. Once you're current, you drop onto the normal monthly rate. No lecture about how you got here. Here's how the catch-up process works.

You're a CPA. Do you file my taxes too?

No, I do bookkeeping only. I'm a CPA and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, which means your books get done to a standard your tax preparer will appreciate, but I don't prepare returns. Most clients keep their CPA for taxes and use me to keep the books clean all year. That usually makes their tax bill smaller, because their CPA isn't billing hours to untangle the year first.

Will you work with my current accountant?

Happily. That's the normal arrangement. I'll get them whatever they need at year-end in the format they want, and they'll generally be glad you hired me.

What do you actually need from me each month?

Very little, which is the point. Your bank and card accounts connect to QuickBooks directly, so most of it flows in on its own. You get a private Google Drive folder to drop receipts or statements into, and I'll email you if I have a question about a specific transaction. Usually that's a few minutes of your month.

What software do you use?

QuickBooks Online. If you're already on it, I'll work in your existing file. If you're not, I'll get you set up. It stays your file and your subscription, so if we ever part ways you keep everything, with no hostage situation over your own data.

What do I get each month, and when?

Every account reconciled to the statement, every transaction categorized, and a Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet delivered on a set date each month, plus a short plain-English note on what the numbers say and anything that needs your attention. A set date, not "whenever."

Do we have to meet in person?

Only if you want to. I'm based in Jacksonville and I'm glad to meet local clients face to face, but everything works remotely, and most clients prefer that. Either way, you're calling a real person here, not a support queue.

How do I pay you?

Automatic ACH from your business bank account, billed on the same date each month, so neither of us has to think about it. No cards, no invoices to chase.
